The eastern cape in South Africa is in a spot of trouble.

Unemployment figures are on the rise, the economy is stagnant, and growth opportunities are few and far between. It’s really the export driven automotive sector which is the big local employer.

So when state owned Transnet National Ports announced that it was planning to expand its operations in the port of Coega local business leaders got excited.
