Pirates attacked a Greek-owned tanker which was anchored 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) off Limboh port in Cameroon, abducting eight crew members, the Greek Shipping Ministry said on Tuesday.

A Greek mechanic was injured during the incident, and was transferred to a local hospital, according to an e-mailed press announcement of the ministry.

The vessel “Happy Lady” had 28 crew members on board. The abducted are five Greek nationals, a Ukrainian, and two from the Philippines.
