A leading opposition lawmaker in Ghana has been found stabbed to death at his home in the capital Accra.
Joseph Boakye-Danquah is believed to have been killed early on Tuesday.
It’s however, not the first time he was attacked. In 2010, Boakye-Danquah was attacked and stabbed, suffering deep cuts to his hand.
Boakye-Danquah represented the Abuakwa North constituency in the Eastern Region and was a member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party.
Investigations have since been launched and already two security guards at his house have been taken in for questioning.
Attacks on politicians are rare in Ghana but another leading member of the NPP, died in May last year, after an acid attack.
Ghanaian legislators are expressing their concerns about this recent attack.
