Gabonese football superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is rumoured to be a top target for English side Arsenal, who are ready to part with £53.4m for the Borussia Dortmund striker.

Arsenal are said to be in the market for forwards, and are optimistic Aubameyang’s acquisition will fill the void left by Alexis Sanchez who is on the verge of signing for either Manchester City or Manchester United.

Respected football news outlet Sky Sports through its reporter Guillem Balague reports that the 28-year-old is an immediate target for the Gunners.

Aubameyang, who has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions this season, has routinely been linked with a move to the Premier League after topping the goalscoring table in the Bundesliga last season.

Arsenal has experienced a dip in form since the end of 2017, winning only three games in 10 PL matches.

The London side currently lies 6th on the table, 23 points behind run-away league leaders Manchester City.
