French president Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to make a two a two-day State visit to Kenya in March.

French Ambassador to Kenya Aline Kuster-Menager on Monday confirmed that President Macron would visit Kenya when she paid a courtesy call on President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.
This will be the French president’s first visit to Kenya where he is expected to attend an environment conference set for March in a meet that will also seek to boost business ties.
President Kenyatta said he looked forward to hosting Macron, saying he expects the visit to break new ground in the bilateral relations between Kenya and France.
“Traditionally, Kenya and France enjoy strong bilateral ties and I am pleased that we’ve continued to deepen the relations. I look forward to the visit by President Macron,” President Kenyatta said.
During President Macron’s visit, Kenya and France are expected to sign several agreements and MoUs covering various subjects of mutual interest between the two countries.
France is seen as a key development partner for Kenya’s proposed rapid transit train service between Nairobi’s central business district and the main airport, the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
