France suggests vote recount to end ongoing Gabon stand-off

The stand-off between President-elect Ali Bongo and opposition leader Jean Ping continues.

Former colonial power, France, has also been weighing in on the dispute. French Prime Minister Manual Valls has hinted that Gabon should hold a vote recount. He’s also calling for clarity on the whereabouts of 15 French nationals who went missing during protests against Bongo.
