Former Nigerian President’s three-paragraph letter to Donald Trump
Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria’s former President, has reportedly written a congratulatory letter to Donald Trump, the United State president-elect, pledging to work with him to attain a “fairer world”.
The Premium Times reports that the three-paragraph letter dated November 9, 2016 cautioned that support would only come with equitable and fairer acceptance of the continent.
“I felicitate with you, your family and everybody in your campaign for winning the presidential elections to become the 45th President of the United States of America.
“Let me assure you that most of us in Africa who believe in equitability in the global affairs will work with you for a fairer world and more so, those of us in Nigeria.
“While congratulating you once again, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration.”
Donald Trump was won the US Presidential elections early this week after capturing Wisconsin’s 10 electoral votes, putting him over the 270 threshold.
Voters eager to shake up the nation’s political establishment picked the celebrity businessman to become the country’s 45th president.
