Sir Alex Ferguson, former head coach of English Premier League club Manchester United, has left a UK hospital and is able to walk, according to British media agencies, including The Sun and Daily Mirror.
Ferguson was hospitalized on May 5 for a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. Though he was once in critical danger, subsequent reports said his condition had been brought under control.
During his time in hospital, Ferguson received get-well wishes from across the football world, including David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
When Ferguson woke up, the first question he asked was if Doncaster Rovers, the team coached by his son Darren Ferguson from English Football’s League One, had won the game, the reports said. Unfortunately, Doncaster lost the game 0-1.
Having left hospital, Ferguson will continue his recovery under the care of his wife Cathy. He has also told people around him that he wanted to go to Old Trafford to watch Manchester United home games when the next English Premier League campaign starts in August.
According to an inside source, Ferguson is doing well with his recovery. It’s a matter of time before he will return to “The Theatre of Dreams”. He will likely be watching televised matches during the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia, it was reported.
