Former DR Congo warlord sentenced to 18 years in jail
Former Democratic Republic of Congo warlord Jean-Pierre Bemba has been sentenced to 18 years in jail by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and sexual violence.
The ICC in March found Bemba guilty of crimes committed in neighbouring Central African Republic (CAR) in 2002 and 2003.
The former warlord was accused of failing to stop rebels from killing and raping people.
He had sent more than 1,000 fighters to help put down an attempted coup.
