Senegal over the weekend held the first edition of the Grand Carnival of Dakar.

The carnival running from November 22 to 24, 2019, aimed at promoting the regional diversity of Senegalese culture with traditional costumes, dancing, music, gastronomy, screenings and artisanship.

The event followed a similar flair from the Caribbean counter parts but had a very distinct  Senegalese influence from costumes, culture, dance and practices. The colorful event went off without a hitch and is scheduled to be an annual event.
