FIFA president Gianni Infantino set to visit Rwanda

The President of the world football governing body Gianni Infantino will visit Rwanda next week, his third visit to Africa since he took over the helm of the football authority.
Rwandese local football governing body FERWAFA said in a statement released on Wednesday that Infantino will travel to the East African countryon February 24, a visit that will see him lay a foundation stone on the construction of FERWAFA Village Phase 1.
The FIFA president visited Gabon in March 2016, before travelling to Nigeria in July, where he met heads of African Football Associations.
In the statement released by FERWAFA,president Vincent Nzamwita says; “it is a great honour to our nation and the region at large to host FIFA President in Kigali. This visit shows that he has countless love for our country and FERWAFA,”
“We cherish all this to H.E President Paul Kagame who loves football and has played a big role to ensure that we have achieved many milestones with the visit of FIFA President inclusive. So let’s work harder to achieve our vision,” he added.
Before Rwanda however, Infantino will visit South Africa and Zimbabwe.
While in Zimbabwe, he is scheduled to grace the COSAFA Presidency celebrations organized by ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa
Infantino pledged to increase World Cup slots, a move that would see Africa get two more slots.
