FIFA fines Nigeria for fan trouble

World Football governing body FIFA has fined Nigeria US$31,000 for an incident of crowd disturbance during September’s World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Uyo.
The Super Eagles emerged victorious in that game, beating the Indomitable Lions 4-0 to stay well on course for qualification for the June 2018 event.
Nigerian fans invaded the pitch in celebration before that game ended.
With two games to go, Nigeria tops Group B with 10 points, followed by Zambia (7).
Cameroon in on 3 points while Algeria is the last in the group, having secured only 1 point so far.
Should the Super Eagles beat Zambia on Saturday, they will book their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will be staged in Russia.
No African team has qualified for the competition, though that is expected to change this weekend.
Other African teams on the verge of qualifying include Tunisia and Egypt.
Outside Africa, some teams have already booked their spots in the 2018 Russian showdown, including hosts Russia, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Iran.
