FIFA on Thursday suspended the president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Moses Magogo, for two months following his implication in the illegal resale of 2014 FIFA World Cup tickets.
The suspension from all football-related activity at national or international level takes effect immediately.
Magogo, who is also a member of the Confederation of African Football Executive Committee, was also fined CHF10,000 ($10,000 or approximately UGX37 million).
In May 2017, an MP named Allan Ssewanyana petitioned FIFA accusing Magogo of involvement in the sale of 2014 World Cup tickets which had been allocated to Uganda.
Magogo stepped aside as FUFA president towards the end of September to allow investigations into his role in the scandal.
FUFA first vice president Justus Mugisha took over his role in an acting capacity.
Magogo has been head of the FUFA since August 2013.
