Fears that hate comments in Kenya could lead to violence ahead of 2017 elections

Hate speech has been making headlines in Kenya this week.

Several Members of Parliament were taken to court for their comments about political rivals. Authorities say they’re investigating hundreds of other cases, many on social media. There are fears that if not curbed, it could lead to violence ahead of next year’s election.
