Exploring the origins of East Africa’s bike taxis aka boda boda
From Kigali to Kampala, Nairobi to Mombasa – Boda Bodas can be found across East Africa.
The bikes are far, efficient, but most of all cheap. And it has its roots right in Kenya.
Busia is in the far west of Kenya, right on the border with Uganda.
Though much slower than the motorbikes, boda boda bicycles remain popular in the area.
And they’re not just for passengers – but for goods too.
