
Ethiopia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases hit 32,722

Ethiopia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 32,722 after 1,386 new COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed on Tuesday, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health said.
The East African country had so far conducted some 651,311 COVID-19 medical tests, including 22,101 COVID-19 tests during the last 24-hours, according to the health ministry.
28 more patients succumbed to illnesses related to the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country to 572, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said 12,938 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 had so far recovered, including 414 in the last 24 hours period.
According to the ministry, a total of 19,210 COVID-19 patients are still undergoing medical treatment, out of which 216 are in severe condition.
Ethiopia, Africa’s second-most populous nation with about 107 million people, confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13.
