Ethiopia’s Abiy receives condolence message from President Trump

Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed on Friday held a call with U.S President Donald Trump following Sunday’s Ethiopian Airlines plane crash.

The U.S president is said to have expressed his condolences to the victims of ET 302 even as investigations into the crash continue.

PM Abiy disclosed on his official twitter page that the talks also focused on need to strengthen diplomatic ties.

a number of airlines have grounded operations of Boeing 737 Max 8 planes, a model similar to the Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed on Sunday.

On Wednesday, President Trump issued an emergency order of prohibition to ground all flights of the B787 Max 8 and 9 models in the U.S through the FAA.

Eight U.S nationals were among the 157 passengers who died following the crash.
