The carrier suspended its operations to Somalia following the outbreak of hostilities between the two countries four decades ago.

In June, Ethiopian Airlines resumed flights to the Eritrean capital Asmara after a two-decade hiatus as the two nations cozied up to one another.
A number of carriers have expressed interest in flying to Somalia.
Kenya Airways’ low cost carrier subsidiary Jambojet is among airlines that have also shown interest in establishing a route to Somalia.
Somalia largely relies on chartered flights to get people and goods in an out of the country.
Before Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines was the only other international carrier plying the route.
