Egypt’s strong trade ties with China to increase trade & job opportunities in the country
Egypt is struggling with youth unemployment which is a major concern for government but the One Belt One Road Initiative is set to address that issue, at least in part.
“The common development of countries along the “Belt and Road”, especially the infrastructure projects will create more jobs for young people of the countries along the “Belt and Road”,” said Ahmed El-Wakel, Federation of Egyptian Chambers Of Commerce.
Egypt is strategically situated along the trade routes linking China and Europe so, it’s expected the country will benefit from increased commerce.
“It is not only China, the second largest economy in the world, will get profit from the initiative, maybe China will be the biggest beneficiary, but the final situation will be a result of win-win, the advantages of the relevant countries, will also get varying degrees of development,” said Ahmed El-Wakel, Federation of Egyptian Chambers Of Commerce.
The Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce believes that the win-win relationship is set to grow.
“The “Belt and Road” Summit Forum will bring a lot of changes to the world, including the changes on the economic concept, for example, the changes of all kinds of transport routes both from the land and the sea,” said Ahmed El-Wakel, Federation of Egyptian Chambers Of Commerce.
So, Egypt certainly has a vested interest in the outcomes of the one belt, one road summit and strengthening cooperation in the months and years to come.
