This creative idea was born from a YouTube video in which a Pakistani barber used fire to style hair.

“The difference between normal straightening and straightening with fire is that straightening with fires straightens the hair more and makes it last longer – it could last for a month or a month and a half. It also preserves the colour of the hair, prevents split ends and helps get rid of dandruff.”

After seeing the video of the Pakistani barber, Hanafy was determined to learn the technique but not without some reservations.

News about his hot method has spread across the city and Everyday a string of customers – mostly young people come to his shop.

Hanafy says the fire technique works better on thick hair, because it can stand the heat better.

So next time you are thinking of a haircut…there is a new trend in town catching- fire literally
