Egyptian and Sudanese foreign ministers hold talks in Cairo
The foreign ministers of Egypt and Sudan held talks on Sunday in Cairo, where they discussed the ongoing armed conflict in Sudan and addressed regional disputes.
An Egyptian government statement said Egypt emphasized its commitment to helping achieve stability in Sudan, safeguarding its interests, and preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called for an immediate ceasefire and welcomed efforts to accelerate humanitarian aid delivery into conflict zones.
Minister Abdelatty “emphasized Egypt’s commitment to the swift restoration of Sudan’s membership in the African Union and its support for Sudan within regional and international multilateral frameworks,” the statement said.
As part of the countries’ partnership, the Egyptian government is also facilitating secondary school exams for Sudanese children in Egypt to ensure their educational continuity.
