West Ham’s Arthur Masuaku is among four players who left camp in protest.

Democratic Republic of Congo’s footballers have walked out of the team in protest against poor organization.

Four players, including West Ham United’s Arthur Masuaku, Paul-Jose Mpoku of Belgian club Standard Liege, Jordan Ikoko from En Avant Guingamp and Gael Kakuta of Ligue 1 outfit Amiens left the camp because of repeated logistical and organizational problems, as the team travelled to Dar-es-Salaam for a friendly against Tanzania on Tuesday.

Their departures were confirmed by the team’s media officer.

“They all lamented the organizational aspects of the camp and are frustrated,” MO Jerry Angengwa said.

According to reports, long flights delays, a lack of training facilities and poor quality accommodation had prompted the walk out.

The rest of the team agreed to stay on – on the proviso conditions that the Congolese federation (FECOFA) improved conditions in the future.

African teams are often dogged by poor organization, especially during international competitions.

In the 2014 World Cup for instance, Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroon players engaged in protests over non-payment of salaries.

The DR Congo game against Tanzania was scheduled for 1300GMT.
