Read < 1 minute

Thousands continue to protest in the northern city of Al Hoceim over the death of a fishmonger.

The man identified as Mouhcine Fikri was crushed in a garbage truck after  a confrontation with police. The protests are the largest since 2011 when the February 20 movement organized demonstrations inspired by the Arab Spring uprisings across the region. The Moroccan government condemned the incident and vowed that an investigation will be conducted.

Moroccans have also taken to social media to condemn the death of Fikri.
