ISIL’s self-styled affiliate in Nigeria, Boko Haram, is feared to have struck again.

More than 30 people have been killed in a suspected suicide bombing in the country’s north-east in a crowded market. No one’s claimed responsibility but officials suspect Boko Haram is to blame.

This market is known as a meeting place for casual labourers, the sort of place that is considered a soft, easy target, such as Boko Haram would favour.

The attack comes days after Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari visited Yola and assured people Boko Haram was almost defeated.
