Italian club Juventus announced on Friday that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo tested negative for Covid-19 and no longer has to quarantine.
“Cristiano Ronaldo carried out a check with a diagnostic test (swab) for Covid-19. The exam provided a negative result. The player has, therefore, healed after 19 days and is no longer subjected to home isolation,” the club said in a statement.
Ronaldo missed five matches for both club and country after testing positive for Covid-19 on October 13. One of those matches was a highly anticipated match against Lionel Messi’s Barcelona in the Champions League.
The 35-year-old had been asymptomatic and regularly posted updates on social media displaying his workouts at home and a new haircut.
The news means Ronaldo could be in line to return to action this weekend when the league champions face Spezia.
