COVID-19 Death toll in South Africa rises to 1,930
South Africa’s confirmed Covid-19 cases rose to 97,302 over the weekend, with 4,621 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to the country’s Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, 53 more patients succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll in the country to 1,930. Of these, eight were from Gauteng, one from KwaZulu-Natal, 17 from the Eastern Cape and 27 from the Western Cape.

Mkhize also said that the number of recoveries is 51,608, which translates to a recovery rate of 53%.
