Cote d’Ivoire’s football star Wilfried Bony scored twice to help Stoke City overcome his former club Swansea 3-1, helping the Potters climb away from the relegation zone.

The win was Stoke City’s third straight Premier League victory, and the team may now be aiming to jump into the top half of the standings.

Stoke’s game plan seemed to work well from the very early stages of the game.

They hit the woodwork three times in the first half, twice through Charlie Adam and once by Marko Arnautovic.

Bony’s brace marked his first goals for Stoke City since joining them from Manchester City in August.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes hopes Bony continues grabbing the goals for his side as they aim to climb even further up the table.

“We do not feel like a team that belongs in the bottom half,” he said.

“Wilfried and Joe have been outstanding since they came here and they are doing a great job.”
