Cote d’Ivoire’s football star Wilfried Bony could move to Chinese Super League
Cote d’Ivoire’s football star Wilfried Bony may move to China in the January transfer window after it emerged that his contract with Manchester City has a clause that allows him to be sold to clubs in China.
The 27-year-old striker has struggled since joining Stoke City on loan from Manchester City, scoring only twice in 10 appearances.
His manager at Stoke Mark Hughes admitted that there’s a possibility of losing the striker in the coming transfer window.
“There is some truth to that (the clause), but I’m not too sure that will affect anything here in January,” Hughes told reporters on Friday.
“Wilf is more focused on focusing his career in the Premier League, and unless he comes in and says he has had an offer from China then we anticipate him being here.”
Bony will be in Gabon with the Elephants in January for the African Cup of Nations tournament.
