Cote d’Ivoire government bans consumption of alcohol sold in sachets

The Ivorian government has banned the production, importation and sale of alcohol in sachets, on health grounds.

According to government spokesperson Bruno Kone, the ban is meant to help minimize the impact of alcohol on young people, especially students.
