Construction sector in Somalia enjoys boom as investors capitalize on peace

Ever since an African Union intervention force wrestled control of Mogadishu from Al-Shabaab militants in 2011, the city’s construction sector has been extremely active.

Once home to some of the world’s best examples of modernist architecture, the mostly destroyed city is once again able to boast modern architecture as new buildings come up and old ones are repaired or replaced.
