Djibouti is set to get a brand new 23 storey twin towers building estimated to be worth 70 million US dollars meant to be the headquarter offices of Chinese construction giant, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
According to Xinhua, the ceremony of the laying the foundation stone for the colossal building was attended by the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guellher and Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti Fu Huaqing among other senior officials in the country.
“It will be a new landmark of Djibouti,” said Yuan Li, president of CCECC
The enormous building will be at the red sea city of Djibouti, it is expected to hold 480 apartments which will serve as small office/home offices, a complete set of modern office facilities, conference rooms, gymnasium, basketball stadium, swimming pool among others.
The twin-tower building is expected to provide excellent living and working space for international business people.
The ambitious project will generate over 2,000 job opportunities during construction and over 1,000 jobs when it begins operating.
The Chinese company is also going to experiment on land reclamation in nearby sea side areas and test the impact of artificial islands on surrounding marine ecology, according to the CCECC president
