CMG Africa and AUB Co-Host Partners Media Dialogue in Côte d’Ivoire

The China Media Group (CMG) Africa and the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) on June 19, jointly hosted the“ 2025 Our African Partners ”media dialogue in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. 

Discussions centered around the theme ‘Smart Future, New Opportunities for China-Africa Cooperation.’ CMG Africa showcased its latest technological innovations at the event, bringing to the fore advancements in AI-generated animations, digital human anchors, and AI-powered analysis tools for sports broadcasting.

Key speakers included AUB Chief Executive Officer Gregoire Ndjaka, CMG Africa Bureau Chief Song Jianing, and Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Director-General Amin Alhassan. 

Ndjaka underscored CMG’s status as one of AUB’s most valued international partners and expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation.

Song Jianing highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence in fostering a new chapter in China-Africa media collaboration, likening AI to a ‘digital camel bell’ echoing across the Sahara.

During the event, Côte d’Ivoire Prime Minister Robert Mambe Beugre and Minister of Communication Amadou Coulibaly visited the CMG innovation booth, where they lauded the Group’s technological achievements. Prime Minister Beugre expressed his hope that Côte d’Ivoire would also embrace similar innovations to align with China’s media evolution.

The booth attracted significant attention and engagement from attendees.

The event concluded with a strong affirmation of the shared commitment between CMG and African broadcasters to embrace technology and shape the media future together.

Nearly 100 media leaders and representatives from over 50 AUB member organizations across Africa participated in the dialogue, held as part of the 16th AUB General Assembly.
