The third Africa Tech Challenge Awards ceremony was held in Kenya on Monday.

The competition is sponsored by AVIC International and organised by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, along with the Ministry of Education. The project focuses on knowledge transfer, aiming to boost young people’s vocational skills and employability. Dozens of contestants from technical training institutes across Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Zambia took part. They battled it out in lathe-machining, computer numerical control, and competency tests. The top 6 teams were awarded certificates and cash prizes from AVIC International.

Several outstanding participants won full scholarships to study at some of China’s most prestigious engineering universities and technical schools.
