Before beginning his five-day tour to the region, President Xi had an article published in the Egyptian daily newspaper, Al-Ahram.
He said that in 2014, when both China and Egypt agreed to lift their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, they stepped into the fast lane of development.
Xi said they are keen to uphold regional peace, promote beneficial cooperation, and advocate the diversity of their civilizations.
