Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit five African countries

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is set to make official visits to Madagascar, Zambia, Tanzania, the Republic of Congo and Nigeria this month.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang says for the past two decades, Africa has been the first stop for the top diplomat’s official visits abroad. Geng says the practice shows that Beijing regards its relations with developing countries as the foundation of its diplomacy.
