Chinese FM Wang Yi visits Angola, meets President Lourenco
China’s Foreign affairs minister Wang Yi is continuing his traditional annual tour of Africa.
Wang began his four-day African visit on Saturday in Rwanda, where he met with President Paul Kagame. The two leaders held discussions aimed at strengthening ties between their countries.
The Chinese FM then left for Angola on Sunday.
Upon arriving in Luanda, Wang conveyed President Xi Jinping’s greeting to President Joao Lourenco.
The two nations commemorated the 35th anniversary of their long-standing diplomatic relations.
China has firmly supported Angola and continues to explore development paths that are in keeping with its own national identity, while supporting Angola’s economic strategies.
The relationship between the two countries has entered a crucial stage, with both parties keen to foster innovative ideas for mutual benefit.
China has called on Chinese enterprises to invest in Angola.
Wang Yi also highlighted China’s plan to host the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
