The second China-Africa Investment Forum is scheduled to be held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech on November 27 and 28, aimed at strengthening relations between Chinese and African businesses and to promote the development of business partnerships, particularly in the industrial sector.

More than 500 high profile delegates drawn from various fields such as politics, business and academics, both from African countries and china, will attend the event to discuss a raft of issues including the Belt and Road Initiative’s potential role in Africa’s economic development, Chinese enterprises’ stakes and prospects in African countries’ industrialization process, as well as innovative financial services’ development potential in Africa.

The forum is expected to promote the mutual understanding of Chinese and African businesses, help them identify the most profitable markets and sectors, and promote sustainable commercial, technical and financial partnerships.

In 2009 China became Africa’s largest trade partner and the scale of bilateral trade has expanded rapidly ever since. This year, trade between China and Africa reached US$85.3 billion in H1, surging 19 percent year on year.

Located in a pivotal position between the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Morocco is seeking to become an attractive destination for international companies. In 2014, it launched an industrial acceleration plan to boost its national economy and create a new, modernized industrial sector which attracts great interest from Chinese enterprises.
