Chibok schoolgirls remain missing 6 months later
Six months have passed since more than 200 schoolgirls were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants. They were taken from Chibok in April. Weeks later, the abductions had captured the international community’s attention. And with global support pouring in – many thought the girls’ rescue would we swift. Six months later, at least 219 girls remain in captivity. Government says rescuing them could put their lives in danger. Also, with other global crises like ISIS and Ebola, the international community’s attention has shifted.
