Chelsea boss Antonio Conte lauds Victor Moses after Burnley display

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has heaped praise on Nigerian Victor Moses for his display for the Blues in their win against Burnley on Thursday.

The 27-year-old capped a man-of-the-match performance with an assist and a goal as the Londoners cruised to a 2-1 win in Conte’s 100th match in charge.

Chelsea went ahead in the 20th minute after Kevin Long turned a Moses’ cross into his own net.

The Clarets however threatened to spoil Conte’s party, snatching an equalizer in the 64th minute through Ashley Barnes.

Moses found the back of the net with a thumping volley four minutes later to restore the Blues’ lead, which they hanged on to till the end.

“That was a fantastic performance from the Blues and a deserved three points,” Conte told Chelsea media after the game.

“Victor Moses, with an assist and the winning goal, was the star man, but everyone performed admirably against tough opposition. Back-to-back wins is the perfect preparation for Wembley on Sunday.”

Chelsea are currently ranked 5th in the Premier League table with 63 points, five adrift of Tottenham Hotspurs who occupy fourth place, the last Champions League spot.

Conte’s charges are still in contention to lift the FA Cup, and are poised to play Southampton in the semi-final stage on Sunday.
