CHAN 2018: Quest for glory continues in Morocco

The battle for honors continues today as the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter finals begin.

Hosts Morocco will open the stage with a game against Namibia in Casablanca.

The North African side booked its place at the quarter final stage after topping Group A with seven points, same as Sudan, but with a superior goal difference.

Moroccans will be hoping their side goes on to brush Namibia aside and make it to the semi-finals.

Namibia qualified from Group B as first runners up after managing seven points, same to Zambia which topped thanks to a better goal difference.

The second game today will see Zambia clash with Sudan for the second slot in the semi-final stage.

Two more games will be played on Sunday, with Nigeria facing Angola while Congo clashes with Libya.

Nigeria won Group C with seven points ahead of Libya which managed six.

Congo booked their place after topping Group D with seven points ahead of Angola which had five.

The winner from the match pitting Morocco and Namibia will face the winner from the Congo vs Libya game in the first semi-final game.

The second semi-final game will pit the winner from Zambia vs Sudan against the winner from Nigeria vs Angola.

Those games will both be played on 31 January, with the final game scheduled to be played on 4 February in Casablanca.
