CHAN 2018: Nigeria roars into semis after beating Angola

Nigeria has qualified for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) semi-final stage after beating Angola in the third quarter final game played in Tangier.

The southern African side drew first blood, going ahead in the 56th minute thanks to a Vladimiro Antonio goal, also going close on several occasions but without much luck.

Nigeria, despite a barrage of attacks on the Angolan defense, had to wait until stoppage time to score an equalizer, coming through Anthony Okpotu.

The game was forced into extra time, with the West Africans snatching a victory to disappoint Angola.

The decisive goal was scored by Gabriel Okechukwu in the 109 minute

Nigeria will now face Sudan for a slot in the final game.

Sudan ensured progression after shocking Zambia by a solitary goal on Saturday.

The last quarter final game played late on Sunday pit Congo against Libya.

The semi-final games of the competition are scheduled to be played on January 31.
