Read 2 minutes

Hosts Morocco will go head to head against Nigeria  later on Sunday in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) final game with both sides seeking a first CHAN trophy at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.

The two sides have exuded confidence and are sure of a win in the game, with Morocco’s coach Jamal Sellami saying his side deserves the trophy due to the efforts it has put.

“The game is extremely important because we want to win and crown our efforts after the work we put in we deserve to win the trophy because of our efforts,” he said.

He noted that Nigeria has individual brilliance, but his team will tackle that in its own unique way.

“Nigeria have individual players and they want to win duels but my team is prepared and we have qualities to get solutions against them,” he added.

On his side, Nigeria’s coach Salisu Yusuf has said his players have the quality to win the game despite Morocco playing at home and enjoying massive support.

“I believe in every member of my team here because they’ve shown that they’re all ready if given the opportunity. We want to win because we deserve to be here,” he said.

The victor tonight will become the fifth winner of the CHAN competition, after The Democratic Republic of Congo (2), Tunisia (1) and Libya (1).

Libya was beaten to the third place by Sudan on Saturday in post match penalties after the sides drew 1-1 in normal and added time.
