Car-bomb kills Somalia’s former Defense Minister
Somalia’s former Defence minister Muhidin Mohamed was yesterday killed in a car bomb, the latest in a string of attacks in the capital Mogadishu.
Muhidin Mohamed served as Somalia’s Defense minister in 2008.
Al Shabaab terror group, which is aligned to al Qaeda, told Reuters news agency it planted the car bomb that killed Muhidin Mohamed, who was also an adviser to the speaker of Somalia’s parliament.
Al-Shabaab is fighting to overthrow the internationally-backed government in Mogadishu, which is being supported by over 20,000 African Union troops.
