Cameroon forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting extended his contract with French champions Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season.

The extension means that Choupo-Moting will be available for the Coupe de France final against Saint-Etienne on July 24 and the Coupe de la Ligue final against Lyon on July 31. He will also be eligible for the final rounds of the Champions League in Lisbon from August 12 to 23.

Choupo-Moting, 31, joined PSG on a free transfer in August 2018 having been with Stoke City and has scored eight goals in 48 appearances.

Brazilian defender Thiago Silva and Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico also had their contracts extended up to the end of the season which was prolonged due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. France’s Ligue 1 was, however, ended early with PSG declared champions.

“The club is delighted with the three players’ contract extensions and wishes them a successful end to the season with Paris Saint-Germain,” PSG said in a statement.
