Cameroon biggest gainers worldwide in latest FIFA rankings after AFCON win

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winners Cameroon have moved 29 places in the latest FIFA rankings, now placed 33rd worldwide and third in the continent. The Indomitable Lions are Africa’s biggest gainers in the latest ranking.

AFCON final losers Egypt are ranked first in Africa and 23rd worldwide.

AFCON hosts Gabon are the continent’s second most improved nation, having gained 21 positions, now ranked 97th worldwide and 21st in the continent.

Former AFCON champions Cote d’Ivoire are the biggest losers in the latest ranking, having deteriorated by 13 places. They now stand at position 47 worldwide and are ninth in Africa.

The Pharaohs have moved to the summit of Africa for the first time in six years, thanks to their impressive outing in Gabon.
