Cameroon begin AFCON title defence with win over Guinea-Bissau

Defending champions Cameroon beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0 on Tuesday in their Group F opener at the Ismailia Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt.
The Indomitable Lions eventually broke Guinea-Bissau’s resolve following a goalless first half with two quick-fire goals in the second half.
Yaya Banana broke the deadlock on 66 minutes rising highest to head in a corner kick from Karl Toko Ekambi.
Stephane Bahoken then doubled the reigning champions lead three minutes later when he slotted home after a cross from the left was deflected into his path as Guinea-Bissau tried to clear the ball.
As a result, Cameroon is top of the group with three points while Guinea-Bissau is bottom. Ghana and Benin were scheduled to play later on Tuesday.
