CAF unveils tournament schedule for inaugural Women’s futsal AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday announced the schedule for the inaugural Women’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The tournament will be held from April 22-30 in the Moroccan capital Rabat, and all matches will be played at the Moulay-Abdellah Sports Complex.

Hosts Morocco will play Namibia in Group A on the opening day of the tournament. Two other matches will take place on the same day: Angola will face Guinea in Group B, while Madagascar will take on Senegal in Group C.

The winners of the three groups will advance to the semifinals of the tournament, as well as the best ranked runner-up in the group stage. The semifinals will be played on April 28.

The final and the third/fourth place playoff will both be played on April 30.

The two finalists of the Women’s Futsal AFCON will qualify for the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in the Philippines.
