Burundi government launches the forceful disarmament program

Burundi is continuing a second day of forced disarmament of Civilians in the country. According to the security minister the disarmament programme will help restore order after months of violence and civil unrest.
“There is a new technique that will support the process of the forced disarmament of the civilians. This new technique enables us to get hold of the weapons held illegally, whether they are being carried by those concerned or hidden somewhere.” General Alain Guillaume Bunyoni, Burundi Security Minister
