British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to visit Ghana after leaving Gambia
The United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary, Mr Boris Johnson will meet with President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday as part of a visit to Ghana.
The two leaders will discuss the key opportunities and challenges facing the West African nation.
Boris’ reasons for the visit to Accra are to improve and promote commercial ties between the UK and Ghana, as part of the wider Ghana-U.K bilateral relationship and to encourage Ghana’s continued progress along its current positive democratic and economic path.
The Foreign Secretary will visit the award-winning fruit processing company, Blue Skies, meet business leaders and young entrepreneurs supported by the Department for International Development’s ENGINE project, and meet with “Rising Black Stars” highlighting both countries’ extensive cultural ties, according to a statement issued from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London
A statement by Communications Director at the Ghanaian Presidency, Eugene Arhin, says the two leaders “will hold discussions aimed at boosting the already strong bilateral relations that exist between Ghana and the United Kingdom, and other matters of mutual interest.”
