British Airways shuts down its sales offices in Egypt
British Airways shut down its sales offices in Egypt and nearly halted flights to and from the country, due its foreign currency crisis.
The airline has not been getting its dollar earnings from the central bank as a result of the cap on dollar transactions.
Any ticket purchases now will only be made in dollars or credit cards. And as this crisis unfolds, the Tourism Minister says the situation has been resolved, and the central bank will pay the dues – estimated at $ 11 M – to the airline in installments.
